Chair No. 140, a light and elegant chair with beautiful clean lines and timeless expression. The chair’s characteristic woven backrest brings back nature and embraces today’s modern life.

The curved seat, which is crafted from multiple layers of veneer, appears to float above the legs and is ideal for upholstering. The seat can be upholstered in a variety of fabrics and leather and complements a variety of interiors and styles.

The curved backrest is available in the following options: Hand-woven Cane, Danish Paper Cord woven or wood only (no hand-woven cane or paper cord).

Chair No. 140 was designed in 1956 and taps into the essence of Danish Modern with its clean lines, functional design and expert craftsmanship.

Every piece is made in Denmark and individually numbered on final assembly.

Bernh. Pedersen & Søn, a Danish furniture maker, has a long and strong tradition in furniture and cabinetmaking stretching all the way back to the company’s start in 1902. Through three generations the family firm has created and sold classic Danish furniture to many parts of the world. The period 1950 – 1970 in particular was characterized by some of the most stunning and well-executed pieces in Bernh. Pedersen & Søn’s history. Especially the classic mid-century sideboards and daybeds designed by Danish furniture designers, including the Danish world-renowned Johannes Andersen, Svend Aage Madsen and Kurt Østervig who were – and still are – highly valued by customers worldwide.
